Holly Livermore had six years in rescue work and four operating adoption programs prior to coming to Austin Pets Alive! Those experiences have given Holly an eye for adoptability, a feel for the right mix of dogs to send out to each day’s adoption sites, and a working knowledge of basic shelter medicine and disease prevention. Holly helped design and implement all of the adoption policies, protocol, and training procedures that make APA as effective as it is today.
Holly is personally responsible for adopting out over 4,000 dogs in Central Texas and still keeps in touch with many of them. She currently works tirelessly as a vet tech in the APA! Medical Triage Clinic, where she spends her days snuggling recovering furbabies and hustling to save all the lives!
Holly Livermore started at Austin Pets Alive! in 2008, managing the Off Site Adoption Program. She knows everything there is to know about organizing an offsite, set up, site preparation to prevent disease, handling the dogs with one person manning the site, and breakdown, all in one day.
At the 2014 American Pets Alive No-Kill Conference, she will go over the nuts and bolts of successful off-site adoptions as well as how to do adoptions as a volunteer agency inside another shelter to help get dogs adopted.
